The Kawartha is an excellent, personal, camp or family canoe with a versatile design that is at home on both lakes and rivers. This hull has a slightly rounded bottom with no keel. The entry and exit lines [stems] are raked and will ride up on the waves. Canoes are molded with a multi layer hull. This polyethylene sandwich provides additional rigidity. Our end caps have a handle molded right in. The maintenance-free extruded vinyl gunwales and weatherproof hardware make for a low/no maintenance canoe.
Recreational trim package includes -- Comfortable Ash / webbed seats, sculpted aspen carry yoke and ash stern thwart are standard.
The Kawartha is also available with our extremely durable camp / rental trim package, this is a great choice for camps and rentals. Our molded plastic seats are re-enforced with extra fasteners, and the aluminum thwart completes the maintenance free trim -- available at no extra charge must be ordered in advance.
All designs are produced using linear polyethylene through an efficient, and environmentally-friendly process called rotational molding. Computer controlled cycles ensure consistent hull formation.
The hulls require no treatment to maintain the surface and can be stored outside year round. For short term storage, you should turn your canoe or kayak upside down when left on the ground or dock.
